New York: Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has got engaged to girlfriend Elena Zhukova, six months after stepping down as chairman of Fox and News Corp.
The 92-year-old is set to marry for the fifth time in a ceremony to be held in California at his vineyard and estate, Moraga.
The 67-year-old Elena Zhukova from Moscow is a retired molecular biologist whom Rupert Murdoch began dating last summer.
Rupert Murdoch met her through his third wife Wendi Deng, it was earlier reported.
After his fourth marriage to actress and model Jerry Hall ended in divorce in 2022, Murdoch briefly engaged to former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Lesley Smith last year.
Australian flight attendant Patricia Booker, Scottish-born journalist Anna Mann, US model and actress Jerri Hall were his former spouses.
Began his career in Australia in 1950s, Murdoch built up a media empire taking over several publications including News of the World and The Sun newspapers in the UK, the New York Post and Wall Street Journal in the US.
Last year, Rupert Murdoch handed over the reins to his son Lachlan, taking on the role of Chairman Emeritus of both Fox and News Corp.
