Putin got exactly what he did not want, says Joe Biden

Speaking about the Russian invasion in Ukraine, US President Joe Biden said that Vladimir Putin got exactly what he did not want because Finland and Sweden now want to join NATO. He was speaking at a fundraising event on Friday.

He also stated that Putin has been trying to break up NATO for the past eight years, and one of his objectives for the war in Ukraine is ending NATO. Biden added that the Russian leader was looking for the further Finlandisation of Europe.

Biden took the charity event to comment on the bravery of the Ukrainian people. "They are incredibly resolved, not just the trained military but the people in the streets." He added that the people are exposing Putin's theory of Ukrainians wanting to be part of Russia to be a life.

The Russian propaganda is that since many Ukrainians speak Russian and have Slavic background, they are originally part of Russia but are forced to stay by Ukraine. Joe Biden on Thursday announced an additional $800 million in military aid to help Ukraine.

The democratic leader also spoke on autocrats referring to China's Xi Jinping and Russia's Vladimir Putin. He also mentioned India and Philippines in the list while saying one of the things autocrats fear the most is the notion that "somehow we can work together in concert and contrary to what are essentially dictatorships."

The US President said that India has its own problems, and a lot of countries have become dictatorships.

Speaking about his interaction with China's Xi Jinping, he recounted that the Chinese president once told him the Quad alliance is a way against China. Biden answered that it is just putting together people who have an opportunity to work together in the Indo-Pacific.
