Mumbai: A 25-year-old Air India pilot, whom her boyfriend reportedly harassed including forcing her to stop eating non-vegetarian food, allegedly died by suicide in her flat in Mumbai.
Police have arrested 27-year-old Aditya Pandit alongside registering the First Information Report ( FIR), which reveals that he had subjected Srishti Tuli to public humiliation.
The FIR, filed following her uncle uncle Vivekkumar Narendrakumar Tuli’s complaint, reveals that Aditya Pandit ill-treated her on several occasions.
One instance he cited had taken place last year when Aditya used Narendrakumar Tuli’s car to take his daughter Rashi and Srishti to shopping in Delhi.
Aditya allegedly used derogatory language while Rashi was present when an argument broke out between the couple and went to the extent of ramming another vehicle in rage, damaging the car.
Aditya publicly humiliated Srishti again in March this year when the couple joined Rashi and her friends for a dinner in Gurugram.
When Srishti and others opted for non-vegetarian food, Aditya insulted her leading to an argument between the couple.
Eventually the couple went out for vegetarian food but minutes later Srishti called Rashi to say that Aditya had gone home leaving Srishti on the road.
Srishti later told Rashi she had been suffering to save the relationship as she loved him and was unable to snap the ties, according to Narendrakumar.
Another argument broke out between the couple after Aditya pressured Srishti to attend a family function but she had to pilot a flight that day.
Later, Aditya blocked her phone number for about 10 to 12 days leaving her in worry.
According to the complaint she always worried about Aditya humiliating her in public and also blocking her number for trivial reasons.
They had met and fell in love two years ago while Srishti was pursuing commercial pilot course in Delhi.
Aditya , arrested on Tuesday under section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhitam, was sent to police custody till November 29.
