Man who kidnapped and killed Indian family in US committed similar crime earlier: victim

Police in the US arrested a 48-year-old man for allegedly kidnapping and killing four members of an Indian-origin family in California.

Now victims of a similar crime 17 years ago say that the man is not committing it for the first time.

CBS47 reported local officials as sharing Jesus Manuel Salgado's record that has details of the 2005 robbery for which he served eight years in jail.

The victims of the erstwhile crime owned a trucking business in Merced town much like the Indian origin Sikh family migrated from India's Punjab.

The victim who chose not be identified told the channel how the incident unfolded back then.

The victim was shutting the front door to their family home when the man pulled out gun and held it to the back of the victim's head.

Afterwards Salgado tied the hand of the victim, his wife and their 16-year-old daughter and her friend. Now he stole all the money they had, the report said.

Salgado grabbed a ring from his wife's finger and tried to push her husband in the pool while making the "girls jump in the pool ".

The man who suffered this horrific moments was Salgado's employer who had recently fired him from a job then.

Salgado threatened the man and his family that he would kill them if they called up the cops, before he walked out.

Cops arrested him the next morning after the family alerted them about the crime.

Having been sentenced to jail for 11 years, Salgado came out later with the promise of good behaviour.

It is not yet clear the motive behind his killing of the Indian origin family.

Videos of Salgado kidnapping the family that came out today showed him marching at gunpoint Jasdeep Singh, 36, his wife Jasleen Kaur, 27, their eight-month-old daughter Aroohi Dheri, and the child's uncle, Amandeep Singh, 39.

The bodies of the family were found in an orchard last evening.

Salgado who was arrested on Tuesday is in hospital as he tried to kill himself.
