Journalism has gone from one of the most glamorous college degrees to the most regretted one after pursuing, according to a report.
Job site ZipRecruiter put journalism among most regretted college degrees alongside sociology, communications and education after surveying more than 1,500 job seeking college graduates.
The survey finds that students who studied journalism for college majors regretted their decision.
Young people looking for jobs would go back to take a different degree if an opportunity presents itself.
Many toil away pursuing college degrees believing that school education would not take them nowhere in career.
Graduates earned 84 per cent more than those with just a high school diploma, the study found.
But the seamy side is 44% of all job seekers with college degrees regret their field of study.
The revelation comes in the wake of companies tend to drop the degree requirement in recruitment while looking for just skill and experience.
CNBC reported that a growing number of companies including those in tech disregard degree requirements for middle-skill and even higher-skill roles.
The top-paying college majors earn $3.4 million higher than the lowest-paying majors over a lifetime, said the survey.
Computer science majors of all the graduates found to be happiest earning an average annual starting salary of almost $100,000, according to ZipRecruiter.
