Japanese YouTuber spends Rs 12 lakh to look like a dog

A Japanese man has posted pictures of him wearing a costume that makes him look like a dog on Twitter. Toco said it has been his lifelong dream to look like an animal. The costume took over 40 days to make, and he spent 2 million yen (over Rs 12 lakh) on the wish.

Twitter user @toco_eevee shared images of his transformation into a collie. A local news outlet revealed that the costume was created by a professional agency called Zeppet known for making costumes for mascot characters popular in Japan. Their work is often seen in TV, movies, commercials, and amusement facilities.

The ultra-realistic costume was built by the special effects workshop to completely hide his human frame. Toco has gone viral after Zeppet shared the transformation images, including a close-up photo, on Twitter

Toco told a Japanese news outlet news.mynavi that the costume of a collie was chosen because it suits his taste and looks real. Collie is also his favourite breed of dog. "My favourite is quadrupedal animals, especially cute ones," said the YouTuber. He added that the choice for the costume was made thinking an animal close in size to a human will look realistic.

When asked about the freedom to move his limbs, Toco said there are restrictions but he can move. "However, if you move it too much, it will not look like a dog," said the animal enthusiast. He asked his followers to let him know what kind of videos they want to see him in the collie costume.
