Abu Dhabi: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, held a significant meeting with Yair Lapid, Leader of the Opposition in Israel. The meeting, held in Abu Dhabi, focused on addressing the latest developments in the region, with particular attention given to the escalating humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah stressed the urgent need “for finding a political horizon to return to negotiations aiming to achieve a comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, which would contribute to reinforcing pillars of stability, achieve sustainable peace in the region, and end the increasing violence in the Gaza Strip.”
Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the importance of a two-state solution as a means to achieve lasting peace in the region. He stressed that prioritizing this solution is essential for establishing sustainable peace and stability.
The UAE Minister emphasized the critical importance of working towards a ceasefire in Gaza and preventing any further regional escalation. He highlighted that the immediate priority is to halt tensions and violence, ensuring the safety of civilians caught in the conflict. Additionally, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the need to facilitate the immediate, safe, sustainable and unhindered delivery of relief aid to the people of Gaza.
