One month after the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect, Gaza’s Government Media Office accused Israel of violating the truce 282 times, claiming that these actions have left at least 242 Palestinians dead and more than 620 injured since the US-brokered agreement began.
In its statement, the office alleged that Israeli forces conducted 88 shooting incidents targeting civilians, 12 military incursions into residential zones, 124 bombardments and airstrikes, along with 52 demolitions of civilian buildings and 23 arrests across Gaza. It described Israel’s actions as a “blatant breach” of international law.
Euro-Med Monitor also said that Israel continues to carry out genocidal acts against Palestinians despite the ceasefire, noting that without effective international monitoring, Israel has excluded over half of Gaza from the truce’s scope and continues bombing and destruction in those areas, Maktoob Media reported.
The Gaza media office urged the United States and other guarantor states to pressure Israel to stop the attacks and abide by the ceasefire terms. It called for reopening all border crossings to allow food, medicine, and humanitarian aid into Gaza and to transfer thousands of wounded residents for treatment abroad, warning that over 22,000 people urgently need surgery.
The statement also appealed for the entry of shelter materials ahead of winter, citing worsening living conditions for Gaza’s 2.4 million residents.
A World Food Programme report on November 7 described hunger in Gaza as reaching “devastating levels,” with child malnutrition up by 20 per cent since last year and routine vaccinations disrupted for one in five children due to the collapse of the health system.
According to Gaza officials, only 4,453 of the 15,600 trucks expected under the ceasefire’s humanitarian terms had entered the enclave by November 6. They added that Israel continues to keep the Rafah crossing closed, restricting civilian movement and blocking progress on the ceasefire’s second phase.
