Tehran: Iran’s foreign minister on Sunday said the country is no longer enriching uranium at any of its sites, offering the clearest official statement yet on the status of Tehran’s nuclear programme following the June attacks by Israel and the United States on its enrichment facilities.
Responding to a question from an Associated Press journalist visiting Iran, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said all nuclear activity remains fully monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“There is no undeclared nuclear enrichment in Iran. All of our facilities are under the safeguards and monitoring of the International Atomic Energy Agency,” Araghchi said. “There is no enrichment right now because our enrichment facilities have been attacked.”
Iran granted the AP reporter a three-day visa to attend a summit in Tehran alongside journalists from major British and international media organisations.
