The Guinness World Record for the farthest eyeball pop (male) was set by a Brazilian man. Tio Chico, a.k.a. Sidney de Carvalho Mesquita (Brazil), impressed everyone with his astounding talent.
According to a Guinness World Records press release, Mr Chico's eyes can protrude up to 18.2 mm (0.71 in) from his eye sockets. The recording was made on January 10, 2022.
At the age of nine, he found his talent, and ever since, he has been demonstrating his extraordinary abilities. Making ridiculous faces in front of a mirror helped him realise that his eyes could pop out far farther than those of his peers, he told Guinness World Records. He amazed his family and friends by demonstrating his talent, NDTV reported.
He said that at first, his parents thought he might have an illness, but fortunately, it turned out to be merely an exceptional talent. According to Mr Chico's ophthalmologist, he has a unique gift.
A proptometer was used to measure the pop. "My skill is definitely a gift. It came from my father, my mother and the creator, too," he told Guinness World Record.
He was born with certain skills, and through time, he has honed them without any formal training.
Mr Chico added that the experience of popping out his eyes is similar to "letting go of some part of my body."
He revealed that every time he pops out his eyeballs, he temporarily loses his vision. For 20 to 30 seconds, Mr Chico can pop his eyes out. He uses eye drops to care for his eyes.
He said, "I have no words to describe so much happiness" after setting a Guinness World Record.
He added, "A dream come true means opening doors for my work to be even more recognized, and I hope to make the most of this great opportunity as part of the Guinness World Records family."
