According to a spokesman for his office, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad is in the hospital.
According to a brief statement from an NHI spokesman, the 96-year-old is being treated at the cardiac care unit.
Mahathir was previously admitted to the National Heart Institute on December 16-23 last year for a complete medical check-up and observation.
In January, Mahathir was admitted to the same hospital for an elective procedure and discharged on January 13. The former Malaysian Prime Minister served two terms as Prime Minister: from 1981 to 2003 and from 2018 to 2020.
