New Delhi: After the seizure of cash to the tune of over Rs 300 crore from Congress' Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu's premises, Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed another blow at the party, saying that in India, who needs 'Money Heist' when you have a grand old party whose heists are legendary for 70 years and counting, IANS reported.
The PM was referring to the superhit Netflix series 'Money Heist'.
The Prime Minister in a post on X, said, "In India, who needs 'Money Heist' fiction, when you have the Congress Party, whose heists are legendary for 70 years and counting!"
He made the remarks while sharing a video posted by the BJP, which reads, "Congress presents the Money Heist'.
The ruling party also attached a video of a huge stash of money recovered from the premises linked to Sahu with the song of the Money Heist in the background and former party chief Rahul Gandhi's picture with the Rajya Sabha MP.
The income tax department raided the premises of the MP Sahu on 6th December and found stacks of notes kept in Almirah racks, reports Hindustan Times. After the raids caught headlines, the Congress had stated that the party had no involvement in the MP's business and it should be him who should explain the huge stash of cash found in his house.
Utilizing the affair, the BJP jumped into the scene by sharing Sahu's old tweets questioning demonetization. With this, the party wondered how people could still have black money after note ban.
