Elon Musk denies funding $45 million a month for Trump campaign

California: Tesla CEO Elon Musk rejected the media reports that he plans to give $45 million a month supporting Donald Trump’s presidential run, calling it ‘fake’.

Alongside sharing the Wall Street Journal’s report on X, Elon Musk posted the image of two gnus (wildebeest) having human limbs, captioning "Fake GNUS."

The Wall Street Journal reported that Musk plans to give USD 45 million a month to a new super political-action committee supporting Trump's presidential run.

One of the people that the outlet quoted reportedly said that America PAC, formed in June, works on registering voters and encourage voting early and request mail-in balance in swing states.

America PAC will attempt to counter Democrat’s robust ‘get out the vote’ campaigns and it had taken note of the money that Biden camp pumped into the ground efforts in swing states, according to the report.

Hiring number of employees, America PAC has been registering voters, holding discussions with constituents in swing states and urging voters to request mail-in ballots, the report said citing sources.

The Wall Street Journal stated citing a filing that America PAC had USD 8.75 million in contributions for the three-month period ended on June 30.

The Tesla CEO, who has got close to Trump in recent months as reported by The Wall Street Journal, said in March that he had no plans to donate to the campaigns of Trump or Joe Biden.

Following the attack on Trump on Saturday, Musk formally announced support for the former president.

In a post on X, Musk said: ‘I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery,’ adding in another post, ‘Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.’
