Donald Trump to serve as boxing commentator for exhibition boxing card

Former US President Donald Trump will be seen providing commentary for an exhibition boxing card headlined by former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield on Saturday.

He will be joined by his son Donald Jr. in Hollywood, Florida, for the alternate feed for the four-bout card. The event will be available on FITE.TV on pay-per-view for $49.99.

"I love great fighters and great fights. I look forward to seeing both this Saturday night and sharing my thoughts ringside. You won't want to miss this special event," said Trump in a press release. He has a long history of hosting and promoting fight cards.

The FITE.TV said that the event would be available through both mobile and Smart TV apps. Both Trumps will be in the building. The card was originally going to be staged in Los Angeles and headlined by Oscar de la Hoya's return to face Vitor Belfort. But he had to drop out after being hospitalised with Covid-19.

Holyfield stepped in as a late replacement, and the fight had to be moved to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida after the California State Athletic Commission refused to approve the fight due to Holyfield's age.

Holyfield will turn 59 in October and has not been in a fight since 2011. He will be facing Vitor Belfort, a former UFC champion.
