CBSE scraps class 12 exams in 7 West Asian nations amid crisis

New Delhi/Muscat: The CBSE has fully cancelled Class 12 board exams for students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE, including all previously postponed papers scheduled from March 16 to April 10.

In its sixth circular since March 1, Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj cited unfeasible conditions after school and authority feedback. Results process for affected candidates will be announced later; Indian missions in the Gulf have been looped in.

This follows CISCE's cancellation of ICSE/ISC exams in UAE, hitting thousands of Indian students in hubs like Dubai, Doha, and Riyadh.

Of 4.37 million total CBSE registrants this year (1.86 million for Class 12), the Gulf decision disrupts a key overseas cohort.
