Lucknow : After the RLD lost the recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the party's chief, Jayant Chaudhary, dissolved all units and fronts of the party.
"As per the orders passed by RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary, party's state, regional, and districts units and frontals in Uttar Pradesh have been dissolved effective immediately," RLD said in a tweet.
The RLD, which contested the elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party, won only eight seats out of 33 that were contested by the party.
In 2017, the Samajwadi Party won only 47 seats, but this year it took home 111 seats, a considerable increase.
By winning 255 out of 403 parliamentary seats, the BJP has retained control in Uttar Pradesh, securing a 41.29% vote share. Yogi Adityanath will become the first Chief Minister in the state since 1977 to return to power after serving a full term.
