Google to introduce Gmail updates to make composing and sending emails easier

Gmail compose UI will be getting an overhaul soon with new features such as a new menu, avatar chips and others which will hopefully help users compose and send emails more easily said Google in a post on the official company blog.

The main changes include a new right-click menu to easily view a recipient's full name and email, options to edit contact names, copy email addresses and open a recipient's information card. Avatar 'chips' will be added to better display  recipients and there will be better indicators when adding a user outside your organization and contacts. Google is also looking to improve visual indicators when adding a user as a recipient.

"You can use this menu to change how a recipient's name is displayed. For example, if you have a contact saved as "Sales Manager", you can change what contact name will be displayed to others receiving the email. Note: this will not change the saved name in Contacts, only how the name appears to others included in the email," Google said.

Different domain names within the same organization will no longer be marked as "external" such as when users within the organisation are added by users from outside. This will eliminate confusions and system warnings. Gmail will also be able to check the format of email addresses to ensure they are typed correctly, the company informed users.

The changes will affect parts of the Gmail UI and so will also impact any Chrome extensions depending on it, Google warned.
