Google is gradually rolling out a new feature, namely the "Save the Photos" button, which will enable Gmail users, Google Workspace, G Suite Basic and G Suite Business customers to transfer emailed photos from their accounts directly to Google photos.
"You'll see it next to the existing "Add to Drive" button on the attachment and while previewing the image attachment. Currently, this is only available for JPEG images," Google said. Previously, users had to download images from Gmail messages and then manually upload them to Google Photos. Google shall be rolling the new feature, which would be ON by default, in the next 15 days starting from Thursday.
Google further alerted that storage space on Google Photos would be limited to 15 GB starting from June 1. One must purchase additional storage if needed as a Google One member. As per Google estimates, about 80 per cent of users would be able to store about three years of memories in high quality with free storage. Google will notify within the app and follow up by email when the storage approaches the cut-off. However, this does not apply to existing photos and videos.
