New York: The world’s wealthiest man Elon Musk has said that his ‘mind is a storm’ and plays video games to calm himself down.
Unwinding a fraught mind after a day’s busy schedule is a problem for many, especially those into corporate jobs.
Many top executives go for sailing, golfing or some other engaging activities in order to relax.
However, Musk told podcater Lex Fridman on Friday that playing video games calms his mind, adding that virtual challenges help ease turbulent thoughts.
‘Playing video games has a calming effect on my mind. Confronting virtual challenges helps ease the turbulence in my thoughts,’ Musk was quoted as saying.
Musk said gaming is his main recreational activity, and he has played many of them.
Musk earlier told American business magazine Fortune that his mind is a storm, adding ‘ I don't think most people would want to be me. They may think they would want to be me, but they don't, they don't know, they don't understand.’
Musk’s companion and mother of his three children Grimes reportedly said that the billionaire has no hobbies to relax except video games.
“He approaches them with such seriousness that it becomes quite intense,’ Grimes was quoted as saying.
Fortune.com reportedly said that ‘ The Battle of Polytopia’ is one of Musk’s favourite games, which is about the strategy of building ‘ civilization and going into battle’.
According to his brother Kimbal, the game helps Musk pick up CEO skills, stressing that ‘ Empathy is not an asset’.
Musk's gaming often influences his corporate decisions as well and it is reported that Musk decided to buy Twitter after an intense gaming of another of his favourite games ‘Elden Ring’ until 5 am in the morning.
