Since OpenAI launched ChatGPT in 2022, artificial intelligence has reshaped how people think and work, and while AI chatbots like Gemini, Copilot, and DeepSeek are being used as tools in various sectors, professionals remain concerned that AI could replace several jobs.

Last month, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates predicted that AI would take over most human tasks, yet as organisations worldwide adopt the technology, he has now shared insights on which professions he believes will remain future-proof.

Although several reports and tech leaders, including NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, predict that coders will be among the first to lose their jobs, Gates believes humans will continue to play a crucial role in the process.

The 69-year-old stated that AI will not replace biologists, as it lacks the creativity required for scientific discoveries, but it will serve as a useful tool for disease diagnosis and DNA analysis. He further asserted that AI will also struggle to replace energy experts since the field remains too complex for full automation.

As generative AI grows more powerful, numerous leaders have reiterated that it will significantly impact workplaces, with some sectors witnessing AI surpassing human intelligence.
