PVL: Calicut keeps semi hopes alive with emphatic win over Bengaluru

Hyderabad: A spirited Calicut Heroes registered their first victory in the Prime Volleyball League as they beat Bengaluru Torpedoes. (15-12, 15-12, 15-9, 14-15, 15-13). The win keeps their hopes alive for a semi-final berth.

The Jerome Vineeth led side displayed a clinical show at the GMC Balayogi indoor stadium here, despite succumbed to pressure occasionally.

For the Heroes, the skipper Jerome, Ajithlal and David Lee contributed heavily along with Aaron Koubie who was brilliant in his serves. The introduction of David Lee was enough for the Heroes to gain immense confidence ahead of the match, and the veteran keeps the hopes with a brilliant performance throughout the match.

For Bengalure, Captain Ranjith Singh and Pankaj Sharma continue to perform their games but were unable to prevent a brave Calicut Heroes. The Heroes need to win all their remaining matches to ensure a semi birth, and just hopes that they take the confidence from this match to do that.
