Jay Shah claims that India won't travel to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup

New Delhi: Jay Shah, the head of the Asian Cricket Council, said on the sidelines of the 91st BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Mumbai on Tuesday that the Indian cricket team would not be visiting Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup. Pakistan will host the 2023 Asia Cup, and prior to that, sources indicated that the BCCI was amenable to bringing Team India to the competition. The 2023 Asia Cup may be played in a neutral location rather than Pakistan, according to Shah, who is also the BCCI secretary.

In 2005–2006, Rahul Dravid was the captain of India when it last visited Pakistan for a bilateral series.

Stadiums fill to capacity for games between the two teams since they are always eagerly anticipated. Within hours of their availability, the tickets for the two teams' T20 World Cup 2022 match on October 23 were sold out.

Pakistan has recently played some standout cricket against India, and they even ended the World Cup jinx against India by winning the T20 World Cup in the UAE last year.m, ndtv reported.

Ramiz Raja, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), recently commented that Team India has started to respect Pakistan as a result of their performance and that the Babar Azam-led team should be commended for giving India a hard battle.

"These games are more about the mentality, rather than skill and talent. Even small teams can beat big teams, if they have the temperament of not giving up. Pakistan have always been the underdogs heading into (World Cup) games against India. But, they have started to give us respect, of late. Earlier, they thought that Pakistan can't beat them," Raja told Dawn News.

"So we should give credit to this current Pakistan team. We defeated a billion-dollar cricket industry. I have played World Cups but we never won against India. This team should be appreciated. Despite limited to resources, we are giving them a tough fight," he added.

Most recently, India and Pakistan competed in the Asia Cup.
