Deepika Padukone unveils World Cup trophy ahead of Argentina-France final

Doha: Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone unveiled the FIFA World Cup trophy on Sunday ahead of the final between Argentina and France at the Lusail Stadium. Former Spain goalkeeper and captain Iker Casillas accompanied her.

The trophy that will be handed out to the winner was brought to the ground in a case carried by Casillas. The case is designed to protect and transport the trophy which weighs 6.175 kg and is made of 18-carat gold and malachite. The trophy case was made by Louis Vuitton and Deepika is the brand ambassador of the luxury brand.

"As part of its partnership with one of the world's greatest sporting events, Louis Vuitton has specially designed trunks for the 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022 FIFA World Cups. The Trophy Trunk has been carefully crafted to protect the sought-after trophy's 6.175 kilograms of 18-carat gold and malachite," read the brand's website.

Deepika wore a white shirt with a black tulle shirt and high-heeled boots. The look was completed with a statement jacket.

Several Bollywood celebrities including Karisma Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan, and Mohanlal are in Qatar for the final match.
