Only MS Dhoni messaged me when I left Test Captaincy: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli rebounded from the shadow of failing performance in the Asia Cup, putting to rest all worries in the media about his form.

The former skipper had done well taking one-month rest, rejuvenating his wrought nerves and sinews.

He has scored 154 runs so far, which includes his notable highest score of 60 that he pulled off in the Super 4 stage against Pakistan on Sunday, despite India lost the match by five wickets.

In the post-match press meet, Kohli opened up about how he sees things happening in the cricketing world, revealing the good feeling he had after MS Dhoni texted him when he left the Test captaincy in January this year.

"When you have genuine respect and connection with someone, you are able to see that because there is security from both sides," Kohli was quoted as saying.

Kohli said that he was never insecure about Dhoni and neither did Dhoni of him as he did not want anything of Dhoni.

Kohli said that of all in the team who have his phone number only Dhoni texted him. Expanding on how he sees things, Kohli said he would rather be given suggestions in a one-on-one capacity than in front of the whole world.

Kohli further said that he will reach out to those whom he want to give any suggestions individually, without going to the TV.

Kohli stepped down as Test captain after a series defeat against South Africa and then he was removed as the ODI skipper the same year, according to NDTV.
