Hangzhou: The Indian men's trap team trio of Prithviraj Tondaiman, Kynan Darius Chenai, and Zoravar Singh Sandhu have clinched gold in the men's trap team shooting event on Day 8 of the ongoing Asian Games 2023, on Sunday, taking their gold medal tally to 11th and the 7th in shooting.
The team helped India bag 361 points, which was enough to claim a spot in the team event.
In the individual qualification rounds, Kynan finished in first place, while Zoravar secured the fourth spot, earning them both a spot in the finals.
Meanwhile, the Indian team consisting of Manisha Keer, Preeti Rajak and Rajeshwari Kumari secured silver in the women's trap team event. But only Keer qualified for the final of the individual women's trap event.
In golf, Aditi Ashok secured the silver medal in the women's individual competition, while India finished fourth in the team event.
Ashok, who had been leading overnight, faced difficulties on the final day, allowing Thailand's Yubol Arpichaya to maintain her composure and surpass Ashok to claim the gold medal.
Meanwhile, title contender Jyothi Yarraji failed to qualify for the women's 200m final, after finishing third in her heat.
Defending champion Swapna Barman currently sits in fourth place in women's heptathlon, with the deciding 800m round yet to take place. Nandini Agasara is fifth in the same event. Also, Amlan Borgohain qualified for the men's 200m final.
