India beats West Indies by 8 wickets in 1st ODI

Guwahati:  India veritably pounded West Indies in Guwahati on Sunday in the first ODI, bagging a 1-0 lead in the series.

In the high-octane match, Captain Virat Kohli and his lieutenant Rohit Sharma hit centuries, keeping in perspective the target of 323.

India chose to field first after winning the toss in the first ODI against West Indies.

As the host readied to round up the visitors, runs began to rain in with Kieran Powell hitting every which way racing past 50.  

Later Shimron Hetmyer slammed a century contributing, among others, to 322.
