Elon Musk is known to everyone. His electronic payment firm, PayPal, is used in more than 200 countries and SpaceX that makes rockets and spacecraft also is one of his contributions. Naturally, he is always obsessed with the use of technology in our lives. Being surprised by the explosions of the communication devices in Lebanon, he declared that it explains what awaits in this world, especially when these devices fall into evil hands with dark minds! Future wars will mostly be remotely operated and controlled. If technological devices are hacked during their manufacture, not only smart phones, even non-smart phones will turn into time bombs. And they could be planted in every home and office in the world without claiming security breaches!

Most of the countries are working on, one way or another to transform their governments and institutions into digitalized electronic governments, without being the owners of the production of devices or of technologies for electronic use and not knowing the intricacies of the mechanisms for protecting cybersecurity! This becomes an all the greater threat when the devices are imported from other countries. The intrigue of the 'pager' bombings in Lebanon clearly testifies this fact. Further, it creates an unstable global environment and the ability to destroy collectively, beyond being a mere cyber attack.

Now most of the devices that we use in our daily lives are of complex design. As consumers, we know only the outward attraction and glamor, and remain unaware of their intricacies and dangers. The explosions in Lebanon conducted by Israel prove that the contraption could have been hacked during its manufacture and made to harm the customers. How can we overcome this danger? Technical experts don't agree that this could be solved by hacking the network.

Most of the political groups and countries are now under the control of the corporate entities. Then, the only way to ensure the safety of equipment is to ensure the manufacture of these precise devices under the strict supervision of the governments concerned. This situation, clearly shows that technology, instead of unifying mankind, has disrupted their unity and brought chaos!

It goes without saying that primarily what man needs is the cultivation of his mind with the principles of civilization. Unfortunately, our technology-based advancement doesn't inculcate this. It seems that we, irrespective of all our differences, are bound to follow the dictates of the corporate giants. What to do when they subjugate, dominate and consequently destroy us! But, while they bring forth new gadgets and tools to make our lives smoother and sweeter, we fall into their trap. This is what happened in Lebanon when the pagers and walkie-talkies exploded as they were tampered by the evil hands of Mossad, the intelligent wing of Israel!

According to what sources confirmed to ABC News, the pagers that exploded in the hands of Hezbollah operatives were manufactured with an operation technique planted by Israel. Israel's hand in the manufacturing was first reported by The New York Times. The US intelligence sources indicated that the “Supply chain interdiction “ operation has been going on for almost 15 years. Planning for the attack involved shell companies, with multiple layers of Israeli intelligence officers and their assets. Naturally, they kept a legitimate company in front that produced the pagers. They all worked without knowing who they were actually working for! It is said that they added one or two ounces of explosives and a remote trigger switch in the pagers. Explosions in Lebanon killed 37 people and wounded 2,931, according to Lebanese Health Minister Firass Al-Abyad. One is baffled to realise how cruel the mindset of Israeli intelligence is!

It is noteworthy in this context that on September 21 and 22, the United Nations convened the Summit of the Future Action Days in UN Headquarters in New York. There, the world leaders adopted a Pact for the Future that includes a Global Digital Compact and Declaration on Future Generations. This Pact for the Future was the result of the negotiations held for nine months by world leaders. UN Secretary-General António Guterres said the Pact would "lay the foundations for a sustainable, just, and peaceful global order for all peoples and nations. We are going to bring multilateralism back from the brink".

Let us hope that the Pact consisting of 56 actions will help assure progress on issues of peace and security, in global governance and digital cooperation of future generations. As we stand at the crossroads at a historical turning point for humanity, diplomacy and multilateralism, these agreements, formulated and transformed into action on the ground to put the world on a better path, may benefit everyone. They aim to improve current conditions and protect the destiny of future generations. Further, it may achieve interconnectedness between peace, security and development to put the world on a better path that benefit everyone and aim to improve current conditions.

Raging conflicts, rising geopolitical tensions, polarization and growing distrust in multilateral systems, all these undermine the basic principles of international relations, diplomacy, and decision-making. Hence, the body of the United Nations, established decades ago, is no longer fair or effective enough. To address these obstacles, world leaders have to revitalize the international system and ensure that they are better prepared to face current and future global challenges. Social peace should be strengthened before the efforts to achieve Sustainable Development Goals are accelerated.
