Delhi racial attack: Police target Pinjratod

New Delhi: The ongoing police hunt under the cover of racial riots now targets Pinjratod activists arresting two more: Devangana Kalita (32) and Natasha Narwal (32), taking the total to four so far.

Although both Safoora Zargar and Gulfisha are Pinjra Tod activists, the outfit did not back them.

Whereas her husband launched legal battle for the researcher Safoora, the brother of MBA student Gulfisha, who was the face of anti CAA protest in northeastern Delhi, stepped in for her filing a habeas corpus.

The outfit however denied the fact that notice had been served to them for probing other activists.

No action has been taken against Nadasha, Suhasini, Devangna, Kavitha, Tharoma Rao, although their names are in the FIR.

With the arrest of Davangana and Natasha, Pinjra Tod and those cooperating with them are out in the limelight.

The hunt for CAA protesters, for the communal attacks in northeastern Delhi, began with the arrest of Popular Front activists Muhammad Danish, Parvez Alam, Muhammad Illias.

Arrested on March 12, the trio received bail on March 14.

When Ishrat Jahan and Khalid Saifi received bail on March 21, they were included in the FIR of Popular Front activists charging non-bailable clauses.

Both Safoora and Gulfisha were again arrested, after receiving bail, on the same charges.

Others to face the same situation include Meeran Hyder  and Shifaurrahman and Asif Tanha.

What was in the beginning a bailable case now turned into tough one, likely to even attract UAPA charges.
