New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued notice to Delhi government and Delhi police on a habeas corpus petition filed by Aqil Hussain, brother of Gulshifa, who was arrested after being charged under UAPA for spearheading anti-CAA protests in North East Delhi.
Gulshifa, who was the prime face of Pinchra Thod, a women organization leading the anti-CAA movement in North East Delhi, was arrested on 9th April. Though she was granted bail on an FIR registered at the time of arrest, her bail was countered by registering another FIR.
The petitioner argued that registering FIR while being in judicial custody is illegal and pleaded with the Court to issue direction to the police to present her in the court.
