"New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind will file a suit against the attitude of Delhi Police towards the victims of the recent violence in the north-east part of the National Capital Region.
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary Malik Motasim Khan expressed dismay over the police attitude which save the culprits and penalise the victims. Not only that the police refuse to register FIR on the complaints filed by victims, but charges are imposed on the complainants, who are in a state of trauma.
A school which was set on fire by the rioters was sealed and its owner was arrested. The police is also terrorising the Mutavalis of the mosques which were burnt by the communal mobs, Khan alleges.
Motasim Khan said that Jamaat-eIslami will file a habeas corpus petition against the arrest of many innocent people who were not related to any violent incidents in any regard.
Actions will be taken to assist the victims of the violence to file applications for compensations for the damages and to file complaints with the help of organisations like Association For Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) and others. So far, APCR could manage to file 20 complaints against which 10 FIRs were registered and to file two haebeus corpus petitions.
