New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid came out supporting his party colleague Kapil Sibal’s remark on CAA, saying “If something is on the statute book, you have to obey law, else there are consequences", ANI reported.
Sibal, participating in the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) at Kozhikode on Saturday, said that "a state cannot say no to a law cleared by the parliament".
He further said that all must stand together and should not be scoring political points. No state can say no to CAA if it is passed.
However, people can opposite it and pass a resolution in the Assembly asking the government to withdraw it, he said.
Declaring that it will not be implemented could get to problems, creating more difficulty. According to him, all must get together politically and fight this battle together.
