New Delhi: Delhi police have handed over a list to detectives in the states dubbing people who happened to be in the Nizamuddin area with mobile phones as attendees of the Tablighi conference, triggering a nation-wide hunt for the innocents.
Residents of Nizamuddin West and those dined at famous restaurants in the area now figure in the list of the Tablighi conference. Police have started knocking on the doors, arriving with ambulances, seeking people who have no links to Tablighi Jamaat.
An ambulance pulled up in front of the house of Abubakar Sidhique at Vennakode, Kozhikode, who is among the 23 in the list handed over to Kerala by Delhi police.
Alongside police contacted Noushad Saqafi from Ottapalam, Favas from Pathimangalam, Kozhikode dubbing them as attendees of the Tablighi conference.
Many office workers in Nizamuddhin and those visited the area are being tracked down as attendees of the conference.
Uttar Pradesh police have forcefully quarantined Asif , a young man who had been to his Nizamuddhi office before visiting Manipur as part of his job.
Another person to be forced into quarantine was Muslim leader from Gujarat Usman Gani Bapu with no Tablighi links.
Some TV channels and news agencies continue with hate-news even after Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind approached the Supreme Court seeking to stall them.
