Bengaluru: Anant Kumar Hegde, former Union Minister and BJP MP for Uttara Kannada, posted on Facebook a communally charged article against Tablighi Jamaat followers.
As well as alleging a conspiracy by the Tablighis to spread COVID-19, he accused them of involvement in “terrorist acts” across the world in the past three decades.
He wondered if there was a conspiracy by Tablighis behind increasing COVID-19 cases in the United States of America.
Only three days ago, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa warned strict action against communalizing the COVID-19 situation.
This is not the first time Hegde made communally charged statements against the minority community.
