No normalcy in Kashmir: women’s fact-finding team

New Delhi:  A group of women activists who visited the Valley last week refuted the government claims of normalcy in Kashmir.

Boys and young men were being snatched from their homes and put to torture, they said.

The situation in the valley has taken its toll on the lives of women, students, doctors and patients.

The team of women who visited the valley include activists from Left-affiliated National Federation of Indian Women, Pragatisheel Mahila Sangathan, and Planning Commission member Syeda Hameed of the Muslim Women’s Forum.

A women told the team that the Army pounces on young boys and fathers are made to deposit money when they approached the Army to rescue them.
