Chandrababu Naidu heads discussions for a post-poll alliance

New Delhi: Chandrababu Naidu has emerged once again as the architect for inducting a non-BJP alliance at the centre.

The last time Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister played the pivotal role was in 1996 when UPA government came in power.

He would be playing similar role this time round when the Opposition parties meeting on May 21.

“On May 19, elections will be over. All of us will sit together and exchange ideas,” he was quoted by The Hindu as saying.

Naidu seems to be fully certain of replacing Narendra Modi and he made it clear that PM candidate would be selected amicably.

His words set the tone for a post-poll alliance where leading Opposition parties would hide their hatchet for a non-BJP government.

“There are only three possible options. One, where the Congress leads; second, where the Congress supports from outside like in the United Front government or third, where the Congress has to join the alliance. There is no fourth option,” he told the Hindu.
