Barmer: A tent collapsed in heavy rain in Barmer here killing at least 14 people leaving more than 50 injured on Sunday.
Heavy rains and strong wind made the huge tent raised for religious event collapse over the people.
Both falling debris and electrocution from live wire claimed lives and caused injuries.
Some 300 people had been under the tent participating a religious event when it collapsed.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet called the incident "unfortunate" and said his thoughts were "with the bereaved families".
