Babri verdict: Curative petition before Chamber, the only option left

New Delhi:  With the rejection of review petitions on the Babri masjid land dispute case by the judges in the Chamber of Supreme Court without the presence ofadvocates,  few options are left for the petitioners for getting the case heard in an open court.

The Supreme Court has made it clear that it is not willing for an open court hearing - as it had done in the cases of Sabarimala, Rafael and other cases.

Though there is an option for filing of a curative petition before the Chamber, it is learnt that the aggrieved parties may not approach the court again as the bench has rejected the pleas stating that the reasons cited in the petitions are untenable.

The curative petitions will be accepted only if there is any issues of merit other than those cited in the review petition.  The curative petition also will be heard in-chamber.
