Centre studying options on temple: Adityanath

Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the Union government was working on “various options within the ambit of the Constitution to build a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya”.

On the second day of his visit here, he prayed at the Hanumangarhi temple, and declared that Ayodhya was the abode of “Ram Lalla’ and that there “was a temple [at Ayodhya] and will always be there”. His statement comes a day after he announced that the city of Faizabad would be renamed Ayodhya.

The Chief Minister inspected the site where a 150-metre-tall statue of Lord Ram would be installed on a 50-foot pedestal.

Addressing a huge gathering here on Tuesday, Mr. Adityanath said, “Faizabad district of the state, of which Ayodhya city is a part, would be restored to its original name and would be known as Ayodhya from today.” In Gorakhpur on Tuesday, he said Hindu devotees were yearning to celebrate Deepavali in Ayodhya with grandness.
