Lucknow, May 22 (UNI) In a move to improve the education standard of Madrasas, the Yogi Adityanath government on Tuesday made it mandatory for all the Madrasas spread across the state to teach in English and Hindi medium besides Urdu.
They have also been asked to follow the NCERT syllabus. The decision regarding this was taken in the cabinet meeting held here.
The Arbi-Farsi Urdu Madarsa Board, in its meeting of May 15 had suggested that all Madrasas should teach English and hindi too along with Urdu. “The cabinet has approved the suggestion of the Board,” the government spokesman said here.
Earlier, the medium of teaching in Madrasas was urdu. Subjects like Science, Maths, English ,Hindi and Social Science would be in the curriculum of the Madrasas now.
The spokesman said that cabinet has also approved that the NCERT syllabus should be followed and NCERT books should be used in the Madrasas.
