Narrow escape for Gadkari as carpet caught in his chopper blades

New Delhi: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had a narrow escape on Wednesday morning at Haldia in West Bengal as the blades of his chopper got entangled with the red carpet laid out for him.

The chopper landed amid strong winds. The tarpaulin and the red carpet were flung into the air and caught in the rotors, according to sources.

The minister is currently on a visit to West Bengal. He is safe.
