Trinamool's suspended MP Kunal Ghosh demands Mamata's arrest

Kolkata: Trinamool's suspended MP Kunal Ghosh, who has been alleging the involvement of his party top leadership in the Saradha scam, Monday demanded that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee - "the biggest beneficiary from the scam" - should be arrested.

Reiterating his claims that Banerjee was the "biggest Saradha scam beneficiary", Ghosh, who earlier headed Saradha's media arm, accused state police of falsely implicating him and demanded that the chief minister should be immediately arrested.

"When the CBI is probing the scam, why are police harassing me by falsely implicating me in many cases? If you have the guts, go and arrest Mamata Banerjee. The chief minister is the biggest beneficiary, she should be immediately arrested," said Ghosh while being taken out of a court here.

The Rajya Sabha member, who tried to commit suicide Nov 15 by popping sleeping pills inside the jail, was dragged into a prison van by police in their bid to stop him from speaking to the media.

Ghosh, who is behind bars since his arrest in November last year, earlier had called for joint interrogation of Banerjee, himself and Saradha chief and alleged scam kingpin Sudipta Sen.
