UAE welcomes ICJ opinion on Israeli policies violating international legitimacy

The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which deems Israeli policies, including the expansion of settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as violations of international law.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) conveyed the UAE's strong rejection of any measures aimed at changing the historical and legal status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The Ministry highlighted that such practices, which contradict resolutions on international legitimacy, pose threats of further escalation and instability in the region and hinder efforts to achieve peace and stability.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of supporting all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East. It called for an end to illegal practices that undermine the two-state solution and impede the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
