Dubai: UAE residents experienced tremors during the early hours of Saturday as the country recorded an earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale. The event, reported by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), occurred off the coast of Khor Fakkan at a depth of 5km.
According to the NCM, the earthquake occurred at 3:03 am local time and was centred off the coast of Khor Fakkan. Despite the tremors being felt by residents, authorities have assured that the earthquake had no significant effect on the country.
There have been no reports of damage or casualties as a result of the earthquake.
