Dubai: Pakistani and Indian missions have stepped forward to assist their citizens in the UAE by issuing helpline numbers. This move aims to provide support and assistance to individuals affected by adverse weather conditions.
With approximately 3.6 million Indian nationals residing and working in the UAE, the issuance of helpline numbers by the Indian mission holds significant importance. These numbers serve as a vital resource for Indian citizens to seek assistance and guidance during emergencies.
Pakistan's ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, has emphasized the provision of all possible assistance to Pakistani community members affected by the recent rains. Additionally, the consul-general at the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, has constituted a special team to extend help and facilitation to stranded Pakistani nationals at Dubai airport.
The UAE witnessed its heaviest rain in 75 years, resulting in widespread flooding across residential districts in cities like Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. In response, the government has urged private sector entities to allow employees to work from home, highlighting the severity of the situation.
