Dubai: The UAE has secured top positions in the latest Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024, ranking fifth worldwide for road quality and tenth for public transport efficiency, as per the report issued by the World Economic Forum.
The nation leads in road quality and ranks second in public transport efficiency among Arab countries, while also holding the ninth position globally for port service efficiency and leading the region.
Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, highlighted that these rankings reflect the country's proactive leadership and strategic long-term planning.
"These achievements reflect our proactive approach and strategic planning in various sectors and reaffirm the UAE's ambition to become a globally recognized innovation and excellence hub," Al Mazrouei saind.
He emphasized the UAE’s commitment to enhancing sector vitality and its status as a premier business and leisure destination, which boosts international investor confidence.
Hanan Mansour Ahli, Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, remarked on the significance of these results.
She said: "The UAE has become a benchmark for quality of roads, public transport services, and port services. This will help attract foreign investments and enhance the GDP”.
According to Ahli, the UAE’s adherence to the highest standards across all sectors confirms its developed infrastructure and its role as a global benchmark.
