Tragic house fire in Fujairah claims lives of two Emirati children

In an unfortunate incident on Tuesday morning in Al Tuwiyain, Fujairah, a devastating house fire resulted in the deaths of two children and left another severely injured. The victims, an 8-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were unable to escape the flames, which reportedly erupted around 2 a.m.

Civil Defence teams swiftly responded to the emergency call, arriving promptly to manage the situation. Efforts at the scene included securing the premises and administering first aid to the injured child, who was subsequently rushed to Dibba Hospital for further medical attention.

The precise cause of the fire is still under investigation, with officials committed to determining the factors leading to this tragic event.

Brigadier Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of the Fujairah Civil Defence Department, has issued a public advisory. With the onset of the hotter months, he stressed the importance of regular maintenance checks on electrical installations and the safe use of air conditioning and refrigeration units to prevent overload.

Expressing his deep sorrow over the incident, Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander in Chief of Fujairah Police, extended his condolences to the bereaved family and hopes for a swift recovery of the surviving child.
