Sharjah to introduce standardised testing in private schools

Sharjah is set to introduce standardised tests across its private schools as part of a new initiative aimed at raising the overall quality of education in the emirate. The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) announced on Wednesday that it has signed a partnership with Diglossia, an assessment solutions provider, to spearhead this project.

The collaboration was formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two entities, outlining a detailed action plan to achieve the emirate's educational objectives. The agreement will see the SPEA and Diglossia working closely to exchange expertise, information, and reports to successfully implement the standardized tests.

As part of the project, the SPEA will be in constant communication with licensed private schools, ensuring that all necessary data is shared with Diglossia to facilitate the testing process. Schools will also be encouraged to actively participate in these tests, which are expected to play a significant role in improving the educational standards across private institutions.

Diglossia will be responsible for sharing exam results data and providing in-depth analysis of the standardized tests with the SPEA. Their role also includes ensuring the reliability of the collected data and assisting in developing strategies to enhance school performance based on the results.

This initiative is seen as a significant move towards enhancing the quality of education in Sharjah’s private schools. By introducing standardised tests, the SPEA aims to provide better insights into student capabilities and drive improvements in teaching and learning practices across the emirate.

The collaboration between the SPEA and Diglossia marks a crucial step in Sharjah's education reform efforts, aimed at supporting student development and elevating the standards of education in the private sector.
