Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the release of 227 inmates from the emirate’s Punishment and Correctional Institution ahead of Eid Al Adha.
The pardon applies to inmates who met the conditions required for release, including standards related to good conduct and behaviour.
The move comes as part of annual humanitarian initiatives announced ahead of Eid occasions in the UAE.
