Dubai: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Saudi Arabia announced a significant contribution of $10 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to support its operations in Ukraine. The agreement was formalized through a signing ceremony between Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, the supervisor-general of KSrelief and Cindy McCain, the WFP’s executive director.
The contribution aims to support food assistance programs in Ukraine, specifically targeting orphanages, hospitals and displacement centres. The project is expected to benefit approximately 141,000 individuals from the most vulnerable groups affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
The support will be provided through the distribution of meals, ensuring that essential food supplies reach those in need. This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment to providing relief and humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of affected and displaced persons globally.
KSrelief continues to collaborate with specialized UN agencies to enhance food security and support humanitarian efforts worldwide. The contribution enhances Saudi Arabia's vision to providing vital aid and support to countries facing humanitarian crises, demonstrating its dedication to global solidarity and humanitarian principles.
