Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi has secured among the top 30 young universities globally, reflecting the UAE's significant investment in research and industry ties.
According to the latest Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2024 released on Tuesday, Khalifa University climbed to the 27th spot from 49th last year.
The UAE saw a strong representation in the rankings, with five higher education institutions making it to the top 100 worldwide, up from four the previous year.
UAE University maintained its presence among the top 50, albeit dropping to 47th place from 38th in 2023. Abu Dhabi University slipped to 60th from 58th last year, while the University of Sharjah ranked 69th, down from 43rd.
Zayed University significantly advanced, entering the top 100 at 98th place, up from the 151-200 band last year. Similarly, the American University of Sharjah ascended to the top 125 universities from the 201-250 band in the previous ranking.
